Recently, our Zeta Iota Chapter of Kappa Delta has experienced first hand the immense fight that is cancer. In acknowledging our support for our two sisters in this battle, our chapter wanted to come up with a way to demonstrate our continual support of those fighting this disease, and to maintain a level of awareness on Saint Louis University’s campus for our fellow students whose lives in any way may be affected by cancer.
A trademark of Kappa Delta Sorority, the Confidence Coalition is an organization committed to the promotion of confidence in women around the world. Kappa Delta’s Confidence Coalition partners with corporations such as Vera Bradley and Mary Kay in its mission to encourage women to “Go Confidently.” This December, our KD chapter hopes to bring this commitment of going confidently to Saint Louis University’s campus in the form of a university wide haircutting event called Kappa Delta Kuts for C∆nfidence.
Through Kuts for C∆nfidence, we hope to demonstrate to those members of the SLU community affected by cancer our continual support of them in this difficult time. We also aim to show our school-wide ability to make a difference in the emotional lives of women battling this disease. All of the hair that we donate during this event will go to the manufacturing of wigs for women undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.
We ask that you consider donating to our Kuts for C∆nfidence event in December of 2013. Help us remind our sisters, friends, and families battling cancer of the beauty in their fight, and our committed love and support to them throughout the entire process. A little bit of hair, time and money can go a long way. Please consider helping us in Kutting for C∆nfidnce! #longhairDOcare
